Your role

As a Graduate Electrical Engineer, you’ll get the opportunity to apply what you’ve studied – working in the field solving real-world challenges, that span and extend beyond your discipline. You will have the opportunity to gain valued experience in engineering design, equipment reliability and project management.

The Engineering teams have a strong working relationship with the mining assets and life cycle management team. There is a strong focus on preventative maintenance and delivering consistent results. Your exposure to the full range of Electrical Engineering projects is unprecedented.

A typical day will involve working under the guidance of an experienced team, assisting with designing, developing, and supporting the installation, operations, and maintenance of electrical systems for the Newlands coal mining operation. This mine has now moved to a rehabilitation and closure phase. In addition, you will also be provided with opportunities to work on electrical systems used for computing, communications, and other industrial applications. Seeing the effort you invest, resolving risk, and improving the business is rewarding but not without its hurdles and this will challenge your problem-solving curiosity.
